I guess I am more into the classics – the anti-war movie Avanti Popolo – from 1989 – is one of my favourites. It tells the surreal story of two Egyptian soldiers wandering in the desert after the Six-Day War until they meet an Israeli patrol.
Although I would also nominate Cast a Giant Shadow – from 1966 and featuring Kirk Douglas – it is a splendid piece of art although very biased – based on the story of an American soldier being recruited to help Israel form an army.
