Today is International Women’s Day and this blog post is to commemorate women in the Arab world who continue to defy and challenge the glass ceiling and refuse to accept the status quo. Boldly breaking the norms in all sectors ranging from business, politics, to the arts are women like Nadine Labaki, Nadia Bakhurji, HE Sheikha Lubna Khaled Bin Sultan El Qasimi, Yasmina Azhari, Hind Bouhya, Ingie Chalhoub, as well as the many other women that must be celebrated today. These powerful women have courageously paved the way for all of the women of the Arab World to rebel against the patriarchal norms in our societies and to stand up to what is rightly ours.
