Speaker: Salam Rezk, independent journalist
Salem is a journalist who has been covering the situation in his home country since 2011. Earlier this year he recorded a documentary for Vice where he embedded with jihadists as they conquered Jisr al-Shughour. Salem’s unique access to the jihadist factions in north-western Syria offers a markedly different insight into the conflict, away from the news we hear about Islamic State.
