Speaker: Catherine Zara Raymond, King’s College London
Catherine Zara Raymond’s paper investigates the group Islam4UK, an off-shoot of the extremist Islamist group Al Muhajiroun. Who is behind the group? What are its aims and beliefs? How does it operate? Will the government’s recent ban be effective? Based on in-depth academic interviews conducted with several leading members, the paper is the most recent and most comprehensive attempt to make sense of the group and its future trajectory.
